Popular businessman Tony Elumelu has refuted rumors that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu wants to appoint him as the new governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The billionaire refuted the allegations in a Twitter response to the X user who had posted the news.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is contemplating Tony for the position of governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, according to the X user Imran Muhammad.
“According to a Source President Tinubu is also considering Tony O. Elumelu as CBN Governor,” the user wrote.
In reaction, Tony Elumelu claimed it is false news.
“LOL. No, please. This is false news! 🙏🏾,”
he wrote in response.
