Nollywood actress and singer Angela Okorie is spending the weekend behind bars at the Suleja Correctional Facility, despite reportedly fulfilling the bail requirements set by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The Bail Ruling
On Friday, the court granted the actress bail set at ₦5 million, requiring a surety who is a Level 13 civil servant. While these conditions were met, she was not released immediately.
The Delay
Activist Stanley Ontop provided an update via Instagram, explaining that although the necessary requirements were satisfied through the help of figures like Omoyele Sowore, Mama Pee, and Randy Peter, the administrative process ran out of time.
He stated:
“Angela Okorie’s bail application has been processed, but after we finished the processing, time had already gone.”
Expected Release
Addressing the concerns of fans and the public confusion over her continued detention, Stanley assured everyone that the paperwork is complete and her release is imminent.
He promised:
“We have met all her bail conditions. She will be out of Suleja prison by Monday.”
