Popular TikToker, Salo, has shared a harrowing experience of surviving an attempted assassination in Lekki, Lagos State, after being shot three times by an unidentified gunman.
In a detailed statement, Salo revealed that the incident occurred on Thursday, October 10, 2024, near the Lekki axis. The TikToker described how the gunman first fired a warning shot into the air before aiming directly at him. Initially mistaking the attack for a prank, Salo only grasped the seriousness of the situation after being shot the first time.
“I thought it was a joke because I could still talk and groan in pain,” Salo recounted.
However, the ordeal escalated as the attacker shot him two more times in the stomach, leaving him struggling to breathe.
Salo explained that the gunman then attempted to deliver a fatal headshot but ran out of bullets, sparing his life. He emphasized that the attackers were not armed robbers but hired killers sent specifically to take his life.
Expressing confusion about why he was targeted, Salo said, “I am the one supporting my family; I’m the light. Why would anyone want to kill me?” He also questioned why other public figures like singer Portable and fellow TikToker DJ Chicken were not targeted, adding to the mystery surrounding the motive.
This is not Salo’s first encounter with violence in Lekki. In an earlier attack, he was shot and had his jewelry stolen. Following the recent incident, Salo was rushed to Perez Medcare Hospital in Lekki Phase 2, where he is recovering from his injuries.
