Saheed Osupa has opened up about his fallout with Seyi Makinde, sharing details of what he described as unfulfilled promises after the 2019 election.
Speaking after his recent appearance at the governorship declaration of Sharafadeen Alli in Ibadan, the Fuji star explained that he actively participated in Makinde’s campaign, performing at rallies and supporting the movement at the time.
He alleged that there were agreements beyond performance fees, with assurances that he would be properly rewarded after the election victory.
“They gave me musical work for the governor’s rally in 2019 and negotiated the job, stating they would ‘do me well’ after winning the election,” he said.
According to Osupa, the situation changed after the election was won, claiming he was sidelined and not fully compensated.
“However, they became my enemy after securing the mandate, yet they still refuse to pay for my work,” he added.
He also addressed reports about receiving a vehicle from the governor, clarifying that it was not a gift but a replacement for his own car, which he said was damaged during the campaign period.
“They damaged my car during the campaign and promised to give me another one; that is why they replaced the car,” he stated.
Osupa urged the public to seek full details before judging his stance, insisting his position is based on personal experience.
“People should make proper inquiries before jumping to conclusions,” he added.
The issue has drawn renewed attention following his performance at Alli’s declaration event on April 17, where he openly supported the APC aspirant and criticised the current administration, urging voters to reject candidates associated with the government.
