The Oba of Ikeja, Rauf Adeniyi Aremu Matemi has given up the ghost on Wednesday morning.
However, all businesses and shops at Ikeja local government are closed down for business as a mark of honor for the departed monarch.
Some rituals were said to also be taking place and is being performed in his honor at the palace. Some traditional chiefs were seen wearing white wrappers as well.
Some of the chiefs in the palace told reporters who went to visit that they cannot disclose anything to the media now, as there are rites to be performed when an Oba dies, and that is more important to them now.
Moreover speculations have also been going round on social media that people living in the Ikeja axis should not stay out late at night, as some fetish rituals will be going on at that time. People have been advised to stay indoors as from 7pm.
