Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has addressed rumors suggesting she was pregnant with American rapper Future’s child.

The speculation began after Tems attended Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2024 show at London Fashion Week in December last year. She wore a black dress paired with a purple fluffy coat and matching heels, which led some to believe that the way her outfit clung to her body hinted at a possible pregnancy.

During a recent appearance on ‘The Breakfast Club,’ Tems questioned why Future was the one rumored to be responsible for the alleged pregnancy. She expressed her confusion, saying, “Why am I pregnant for Future? Why Future? Because that’s the craziest.” She also wondered why others like Wizkid or Drake weren’t named instead.

Tems explained that the choice of Future likely stemmed from his reputation. “If it was Drake, it would be the same thing, but the reason why it is Future is because of his reputation. He has about five kids and is known for being a ladies’ man,” she added.

Tems also shared the rap artists who have influenced her, naming Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ab-Soul, Andre 3000, and J. Cole as inspirations. She was featured on Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ album in 2021, and J. Cole was one of only two featured artists on Tems’ debut album, ‘Born In The Wild,’ released this year.
