The sudden passing of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has taken a dramatic turn following revelations from her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko. Contrary to widespread public speculation that the 40-year-old actress succumbed to breast cancer or depression, Onadeko has claimed that she actually died inside a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
A Shocking Midnight Call
Speaking in an interview with the Celestial Reality Check, the media investigative unit of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Onadeko shared details of how he learned about Osoba’s demise. The prophet, who serves as the Shepherd-in-charge of CCC Onibuore Cathedral in Bogije, Ibeju-Lekki, stated that an unidentified caller contacted him around midnight to break the news.
“It was a random person that called me around 12:00 AM saying she died in a police station in Ikorodu,” Onadeko revealed. While he admitted he did not know the exact police station where the actress passed away, he disclosed that he reported himself to a nearby station upon hearing the news.
According to Onadeko, shortly before her death, Osoba had traveled with her hairdresser to visit Mrs. Kehinde Osoba, who also runs a ministry. The prophet noted that he maintained contact with the actress until he received the shocking report of her death.
Fiancé Denies Poisoning, Abuse, and Financial Misappropriation
In his interview, Prophet Onadeko strongly dismissed several rumors circulating on social media regarding the actress’s final days, including allegations of physical abuse and poisoning.
Addressing rumors that he had misappropriated her surgery funds, Onadeko stated:
- No Access to Funds: He clarified that all financial donations, including a cheque from business mogul Mike Adenuga, went directly into Osoba’s personal bank account, not his.
- Church Construction Claims: He refuted claims that he used her money to build his church, pointing out that his ministry had been fully built, roofed, and painted 20 years ago—long before he met the actress two years prior.
- Maltreatment Allegations: He vehemently denied reports that Osoba was subjected to cruel punishments, such as having waste poured on her. He described their relationship as mutually supportive, noting they regularly assisted each other financially without duress.
Unresolved Health Struggles and Family Dynamics
While acknowledging that Osoba had previously fought breast cancer and undergone surgery, Onadeko maintained that the illness was not the immediate cause of her death. He also opened up about her lifestyle struggles, revealing that the actress had battled a severe smoking habit, which he and church members had encouraged her to overcome.
Furthermore, Onadeko stated that Osoba had left his church approximately three weeks before her passing. Following her death, he attempted to reach out to her family, specifically her uncle named Taiwo, who reportedly reacted with anger and declined to engage in a conversation with him.
Pending Burial and Unverified Claims
At the time of this report, the circumstances surrounding Osoba’s presence at the Ikorodu police station and the exact cause of her death remain unverified by independent authorities. The late actress is scheduled to be laid to rest on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in her maternal hometown of Iperu Remo, Ogun State.
