One of two girls who were allegedly gang raped by six boys in Ezebe village Umubo community, Onicha Igboeze in Onicha LGA has reportedly died from injuries she suffered in the incident.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP George Okafor, said: “There was a case reported involving six boys, who allegedly gang raped two girls in Igboeze Onicha. The boys were eventually rounded up by the police and charged to court early this month of which two were granted bail while four others are awaiting trial.
The four suspects have been remanded at the federal prison, Abakaliki. The other two were granted bail at the behest of one Chief Ogbonnaya Okereke.
“We also got information that one of the raped girls died while receiving treatment,” he added.
