Tansian University has responded to viral reports claiming that a Catholic priest was allegedly caught engaging in inappropriate conduct with a female student on campus.
In an official statement released by Rev. Fr. Peter Uche Onuoha, the institution dismissed the reports circulating online, describing them as false, misleading, and exaggerated.
According to the statement, the incident was reportedly connected to a security confrontation involving unidentified armed individuals and internal issues surrounding the university’s leadership, rather than any alleged immoral act involving a priest and a student.
The school further explained that one of the priests involved allegedly ran into a female hostel while attempting to escape the confusion during the confrontation, which may have contributed to the rumours spreading across social media.
The institution also cautioned the public against sharing unverified information, insisting that no priest was caught engaging in any sexual activity as widely claimed online.
