A STEPMOTHER who helped her paedo partner to rape and abuse his kids has described the period as ‘the best time in her life’, a court has heard.
The woman has been found guilty of helping her sick hubby as he meted out horrific treatment at a remote property near Port Augusta, southern Australia, that has left the kids scarred for life.
As well as being raped and sexually abused, the boy and a girl were locked in cages, tied to trees and had their fingers slammed in doors by their sadistic dad.
And the SA District Court heard on Friday how the woman told a psychologist after her arrest that the period in question had been “the best time in her life”, the Daily Mail reports.
The woman’s lawyer claimed to Judge Sophie David that she was being sarcastic when she made the comment.
He said: “It’s obviously not the most appropriate way to address such questions but (she) seems to deal with stress and difficulties in perhaps an unusual way by making a joke or trying to laugh things off.”
But the judge was having none of it, claiming the remark showed a total lack of remorse for the woman’s part in the horrific abuse of her stepchildren.
