Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye, better known as Speed Darlington, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force, just two months after his previous release.
According to NAIJALOG, the singer, also referred to as Akpi, was detained on October 4 following the release of a controversial video in which he allegedly mocked his fellow artist Burna Boy’s connection to American rapper Diddy, who is facing legal trouble with the FBI over sexual exploitation charges.
Speed Darlington was granted bail and released on October 9 after spending five days in detention.
His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed the latest arrest on Wednesday through a post on his official Facebook page, stating:
“Our client Speed Darlington, a.k.a AKPI, has been arrested by the Nigerian police in Owerri during his show upon returning to Nigeria.”
