RIVERS State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has advised clerics to be agents of positive change in a bid to usher in a new dawn in the country.
Amaechi made this remark on Sunday when he worshiped at the Glorious Covenant Ministry in Port Harcourt.
The governor also appealed to the church to speak against election rigging and corruption among public office holders.
He said, “I will plead with the leaders of the church that the pulpit is not a place for politics, but don’t forget too that if the church completely divorces itself from the leadership, then the country will crumble.
He also admonished men of God to condemn election rigging and graft, especially the one perpetrated by members of their congregation.
Earlier, an elder of the church had prophesied a new Nigeria, saying to achieve this things would need to be done differently across the nation to get new and progressive results.
