Popular South Korean musician, Wheesung, has been confirmed dead in his apartment, according to an announcement from his management on Tuesday.
His agency, Tajoy Entertainment, released a statement saying, “Artist Wheesung has passed away. Our team and colleagues are devastated by the loss.”
Emergency responders discovered the singer unconscious at 6:29 PM on Monday after his mother alerted authorities.
Addressing the incident, local police informed the media that a “significant amount of time” had passed since his death, and an autopsy had been requested to determine the cause.
The 43-year-old artist had been scheduled to perform in Daegu this Saturday alongside fellow singer KCM.
In his final social media update, Wheesung shared news about his upcoming concert, stating, “Weight loss completed. See you on March 15.”
