Movie promoter, Seun Egbegbe, who was scheduled to appear before a magistrate court in Ikeja (Lagos) today (Wednesday, February 8) in relation to the infamous Computer Village iPhone theft saga, was not brought to the court as he remained in detention following his fresh attempt to defraud a Bureau de Change operative.
According to information gathered at the Rosaline Omotoso Court presided by Magistrate Y.O. Aje Afunwa (Mrs), the theft case has been adjourned till Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Egbegbe had been nabbed at Computer Village in Ikeja as he attempted to bolt with nine iPhone handsets valued at over N2.4 million on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. He was then charged with stealing on Thursday, November 24, 2016, and granted bail as the the case was adjourned to Wednesday, February 8.
The film-maker however, got arrested again last week Thursday for attempting to swindle two bureau de change operators of $9,000 and £3,000. He reportedly pretended to be a doctor, while his accomplice was a patient at Gbagada General Hospital. Both were both taken to Ogudu Area Command, and later Lagos Police Command where they are still being kept.
As it is, there are strong indications that Egbegbe might remain in detention for a long time this time around.
