The Senate today, Wednesday 26 of March, 2014 confirmed the appointment of Zenith Bank boss Godwin Emefiele, as the new central bank governor to replace Lamido Sanusi, who was suspended last month.
He is expected to resume as head of Nigeria’s apex bank in June.
The senate president, David Mark, said he believes Mr Emefiele will carry out his responsibilities as the bank’s Governor without any fear of favour
