Human traffickers are never strangers to their victims, either the “madam” or the middle man must be someone that knows the victim and her family. They throw wealth around to impress the victims and act like they are concerned about the victims’ poor condition, their future, and they wellbeing of their family.
They try to convince the victim that they will be better off financially if they follow their advice/ suggestion. They make an offer to help them out of hard times and assist the family, usually with the promise of a job in a big city or outside the country.
They offer to finance the whole trip, from procuring passport and visa, to transportation and accommodation. They usually have answers/ solutions to every question/objection you might raise concerning the offer/trip.
Thereafter, the trafficker tries to convince the parents of his/her good intentions towards their daughter and their entire family, often reiterating the fact that all he/she wants to do is “help” them.
They are told not to tell anybody about the “good fortune” that is about to happen to their family, so people wouldn’t be envious of them.
The victim is taken to a shrine and made to swear the oath of secrecy, pledging that she wouldn’t divulge the information to anyone, and will pay a specified amount of money to the trafficker.
A passport is procured for the victim, usually with a fake name such as Happiness, Blessing, Patience, and so on.
The victim is thereafter taken away and into slavery/ bondage by the trafficker, who might end up selling her to another trafficker.
