Three months after they went missing, the bid to get secure the release of the over 200 missing Chibok school girls got a massive boost, as the Britain’s Royal Air Force plans to send three fighter jets bolster aerial surveillance .
According to a UK Daily Mail report , three RAF Tornado GR4s outfitted with surveillance equipment would be deployed in Nigeria to fly reconnaissance missions over the Sambissa Forest where the girls are believed to be held by Boko Haram.
A Ministry of Defence spokesman did not deny the report about the deployment of the planes, adding: “The UK continues to work with the U.S., France, Nigeria, its neighbours and international partners to provide advice and assistance to the Nigerian Government.
“Together with our allies we have provided continuous surveillance support to the Nigerian authorities, including satellite imagery. We are still in discussion with partners on the deployment of further surveillance capability.”
The report also noted the mission is dependent on a nearby nation giving the UK permission to use a runway.
