A mother of a pupil, identified as Valerie Oruade, who was allegedly defiled in the school, on Monday staged a protest with other parents demanding to see the staff who committed the act.

Reports gathered that the yet-to-be-identified staff allegedly defiled the 3-year-old pupil in school on the 8th of November 2016.

The aggrieved protesters stormed  the gate of University of Benin consultancy Nursery and Primary School, Ekenwan campus in Benin City where the act was perpetrated to register their grievances concerning the evil act.

The mother said “My child could not talk because she was so tensed. They told me to protect my child’s image and should not allow anybody to know”.

A child rights protection activist, Jennifer Ero, said that “We are saying that we send our children to school not to be defiled. If the schools can no longer protect our children it means our children are not safe”.

Reacting to the allegation, the spokesperson for the University of Benin, Michael Osasuyi told newsmen that the institution was aware of the incident and that the matter was being investigated by the police.
