Veteran Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, has responded to the backlash directed at May Edochie for not publicly acknowledging the posthumous birthday of her late son, Kambilichukwu.As previously reported, May Edochie’s estranged husband, Yul Edochie, recently marked the posthumous birthday of their son with a heartfelt tribute. However, May’s choice not to publicly acknowledge the day on social media sparked criticism from online users, prompting Rita Edochie to speak out.
Rita Edochie referenced Yul Edochie’s actions following the tragic loss of Kambilichukwu, noting how he privately mourned and then shared his feelings on social media. In addressing critics, the actress questioned whether a noble woman like May Edochie truly needed guidance on how to mourn her son.
Her post reads,”WHEN KAMBILI MY GREAT GENIUS OF A SON PASSED ON , HIS DEAR FATHER CHOSE HOW TO MOURN HIM , HE SPENT TIME IN PRIVATE MOURNING HIM , THEN BOUNCED BACK TO SOCIAL MEDIA TO FORGE AHEAD WITH HIS LIFE , YOU ALL COMPLAINED ABOUT IT AND LATER GAVE A CONCLUSION THAT A MAN OF 40 YEARS AND ABOVE MUST NOT BE TOLD HOW TO MOURN”.
“LAST WEEK WAS KAMBILI’S TWO YEARS OF EARTHLY DEPARTURE AND YOU MESSED UP NETIZENS ARE NOW TRYING TO LECTURE QUEEN MAY ON HOW TO MOURN HER OWN FLESH AND BLOOD ? “.
“DO YOU TELL A WOMAN AS VIRTUOUS AS QUEEN MAY WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT TO DO ON THE REMEMBRANCE DAY OF HER SON ?”.
