The award for the 2013 Caf Player Award has been awarded to Yaya Toure on the back of formidable statistics for Cote d’Ivoire and Manchester City as against the club and country glories garnered by Mikel Obi.
And even though patriotism meant that most Nigerians were rooting for Mikel to be crowned as Africa’s best, coaches across the continent thought otherwise and Yaya won the title for the third consecutive time with a landslide.
