Honourable Abbas Tajudeen has finally been elected Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives after a close race.
The Kaduna legislator won the election for Speaker of the 10th parliamentary House with a total of 353 votes.
On Tuesday, June 13, Abbas, the favoured candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was elected speaker of the lower legislative house after receiving the support of the majority of the electorate.
The Cable stated that Abbas won the poll on Tuesday handily against Idris Wase and Sani Jaji.
Wase received three votes, Jaji received three votes, and Abbas received 353 votes.
In a same vein, on Tuesday, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, a representative for the Bende Federal Constituency in the Abia state, was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives.
