Two new ministers have been nominated to lead the Ministry of Youth by President Bola Tinubu.
Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, the Minister of Youth, and Ayodele Olawande, the Minister of State for Youth, are the newly appointed ministers, according to Naija News.
The appointments are subject to ratification by the Senate, according to a statement made public by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity.
In addition, the President has given his blessing to Mr. Ayodele Olawande’s nomination to the position of Minister of State for Youth, pending Senate confirmation.
Young doctor Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim most recently held the position of president of the Progressive Young Women Forum (PYWF). Additionally, she held the position of Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kwara State for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).Youth leader and community development expert Mr. Ayodele Olawande is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which is now in power. From 2019 through 2023, he most recently worked as the President’s Special Adviser on Innovation.
As they carry out their responsibilities, “President Tinubu charges the aforementioned nominees to consistently reflect the dynamism, innovative zeal, and unyielding productivity that are synonymous with the young people of Nigeria.”
