Paris Saint-Germain striker Gonçalo Ramos has fired back at Barcelona youngsters Lamine Yamal and Pedri over their bold remarks made ahead of their UEFA Champions League showdown on Tuesday.
Prior to the highly anticipated clash, Barcelona’s rising stars exuded confidence, with Yamal posting a provocative message on his Instagram Story.
The teenage sensation shared a photo of himself seated on a railing in a Spain jersey, accompanied by the caption, “Pressure?”
He later followed it up with another post declaring, “I’m back and the mission is back too.”
Meanwhile, his teammate Pedri echoed similar confidence during a pre-match press conference.
He stated, “It was a tough game and we want to avenge that defeat,” referring to PSG’s triumph over Barça in last season’s Champions League final.
However, the talk did not match the outcome, as PSG silenced their critics with a commanding victory on the pitch right in front of Barcelona’s home crowd.
After scoring one of the goals, Ramos delivered a pointed response to the pre-game comments:
“We’re the European champions, I can’t say more than that. If you’re the best, you have to show it on the pitch, not talk.”
Echoing his teammate’s sentiments, Vitinha added:
“We don’t give a damn. We don’t care, we just want to play the match, we won, and we’re happy about that.”
The Parisians’ emphatic win not only reinforced their European dominance but also served as a reminder that actions speak louder than words.
