Paris St Germain have put together an incredible £100 million deal to try and lure Wayne Rooney from Manchester United, according to the Daily Mirror.
The paper claims that the French champions will pay United £40m for the unsettled England striker, with Rooney then to get £15m-a-year after tax for the course of a four-year contract.
PSG are apparently desperate to bring in a big striker as rumours escalate that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will return to Italy this summer after spending just a year in the French capital.
Rooney is yet to decide whether or not he actually wants to go, however: ” He is certain to want to see where he stands with incoming manager David Moyes, who officially succeeds the retiring Alex Ferguson on July 1, before he makes any decision on his future,” the paper reports.
“While United have told the media that the player had asked to move on, Rooney is adamant he did not make a FORMAL transfer request and had actually been hoping to negotiate a new contract.”
Will he or won’t he? There’s always one potential move which creaks on endlessly through each summer, and it looks like Rooney could be at the middle of it this time.
