Popular Nigerian comedian and digital content creator, Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie, professionally known as Brain Jotter, has cried out online following an unpleasant encounter with aggressive street touts, locally referred to as ‘agberos’, in Lagos.
The content creator took to his official Instagram page to share his ordeal, posting a video that captured the moment a group of men blocked his vehicle. The individuals refused to grant him passage, aggressively demanding financial settlement before allowing him to proceed on his journey.
“I Be Lion” — The Street Confrontation
In the viral footage, one of the confrontational touts could be heard boasting and declaring, “I be lion” (I am a lion), in an attempt to intimidate the humorist. Brain Jotter, visibly frustrated by the systemic menace of street extortion, remained in his vehicle during the altercation.
Brain Jotter Critiques Nigeria’s “Zoo Keepers”
Reacting to the incident with a mix of satire and disappointment, the comedian compared the lawless individuals to escaped zoo animals and blamed the authorities for failing to maintain order.
Lamenting the situation, he wrote: “Lion no dey use eyes see goat. Nigerian zoo keepers are the worst. We lack good wild-life and they let a lion escape from their zoo. This is sad.”
The incident has once again sparked discussions on social media regarding the persistent menace of unauthorized toll collectors and street thugs on Lagos roads, highlighting the daily challenges faced by motorists and residents in the metropolitan state.
