POLICEMAN RAPES MOTHER-IN-LAW

A statement signed and released by the commandant of the the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa State, Mr Muhammad Gidado, revealed that a policeman (names withheld) has been arrested  for allegedly raping his mother-in-law, however the police are denying that any of its committed such crime.

The NSCDC statement noted  that the suspect who was arrested in Dutse municipal council is currently in there custody.

The terse statement reads thus:

“A police officer (names withheld) was arrested for interloping the wife of his father-in-law (names withheld) in Dutse, Jigawa State capital,” the statement indicated.

“The suspect admitted committing the crime and rendered a written apology and undertaking to his father-in-law,” the release stated further.

Gidado explained that further investigations were being carried out into the matter, after which the suspect would be arraigned.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Jigawa State command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Abdu Jinjiri, said there was no official report from the NSCDC on the arrest of any police officer on the alleged offence.

The PPRO explained that “as far as the state police command is concerned, none of its officers is missing in action.”
