Idowu Owohunwa, the commissioner of the Lagos State Police, has revealed that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is under investigation in connection with the passing of Nigerian artist Mohbad.
This revelation was made by the police commissioner on Friday during a press conference that was broadcast live on X (formerly known as Twitter).
In a video that went viral after his passing, the late musician claimed to have been detained by police.
“They gave me water inside a white bottle to drink. They said I was using drugs. I was the only one who drank it, they didn’t give others to drink. And they immediately told me to go home and told the others to wait.
“They even hit a gun on my head. I saved Zino in that video but Zino snitched on me, “ he said in the video.
The NDLEA is also being probed to determine whether they are complicit based on his footage during the arrest, the Commissioner of Police said on Friday, October 6, while providing an update on the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s unexpected death.
