The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is calling for the prosecution of the Lagos State Governor, Babtunde Raji Fashola for flouting the Lagos State traffic law.
Fashola was caught on camera jumping over a road barrier which the opposition party in the state is claiming to be on a highway.
Reacting to this allegation against Fashola, nearly 90% of a cross section of Nigerians who reacted to PDP’s accusations on a popular Nigerian news medium rose in the defence of the Governor, asking those calling for his head to name where the event occurred
Still in the governor’s defence, commentators said Fashola was most likely visiting a project site, they also asked the orchestrators of the alleged smear campaign to focus on more meaningful things.
A commentator who was miffed by the response of another commentator, wrote sic, “Oladimeji Muritala you must be stupid for saying rubbish. Don’t you have eyes. Project inspection site. That is to tell you that those people carrying this around do not have meaningful objective. shameless people.”
Olademeji had earlier expressed his opinion thus, “what are you talking about, are you a politician?, he is violating the law bro.”
Another Nigerian, Emeka opined, “I think PDP should go and look for something doing because they are politicaly blind.Even if osho baba is breaking d law i think he is and will be the best governor even PDP will ever dream of getting.”
If it’s a violation of the law, let him pay penalty of fine now. Nobody is above the law. I know he is going to pay if found guilty because he is a respecter of d law,” another reader enthused.
While the heated exchange was going on, others looked at it from the lighter side.
Jimoh Olawale said,” Trust my gov. The man is highly fit. He purposely did that to prove his state of perfect health.”
