Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, has introduced a new online registration portal and identity cards for members of his Obidient Movement, both in Nigeria and internationally.

This update was announced on Saturday through a joint statement from Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the National Coordinator of the movement, and Nana Kazaure, the Director of Strategic Communications and Media.

According to the statement, each identity card will feature a QR code for verification and will prominently display the flag of the holder’s country of residence. This initiative aims to foster diversity, unity, and a sense of community within the movement.

The statement reads in part:

“Obidient registration portal supports Nigerians and fellow Obidients living in the diaspora. You will observe that the ID has a flag on it. For example, if you’re not resident in Nigeria, the top right-hand corner will carry the flag of your country of residence.”

Additionally, the IDs will all begin with the same prefix, “OBX,” regardless of the holder’s location. The QR code, located at the bottom right corner of each card, will act as a tool for member verification. Users can scan the code using a smartphone or QR scanner to confirm the identity of a member.

“So if you choose to support or do business with an Obidient, you can scan the QR code or verify the OBX ID online to confirm that the person is who and what they truly say they are,” the statement added.

The launch of this registration portal and the identity cards marks an important milestone in organizing and strengthening the Obidient Movement’s presence both within Nigeria and globally.
