The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has publicly responded to circulating reports concerning an alleged disagreement between him and Serah Ibrahim, a key grassroots mobilizer of the ‘Obidient Movement’. Rumours of a rift involving Obi and the influential social media personality have been prevalent, with suggestions that Ibrahim might have distanced herself from Obi’s camp during a critical period.
During a recent livestream event held over the weekend, Obi was directly asked to clarify his current relationship with Ibrahim and to confirm if any issues existed between them. The question posed to him was straightforward: “Is there a problem between you and Serah?”
In his reply, Obi did not explicitly confirm or deny the alleged fallout. Instead, he chose to describe Ibrahim in a paternal light, referring to her as his daughter and stressing his affection and concern for all those associated with him.
Obi’s Paternal Reassurance
“No, Serah is my daughter,” Obi stated firmly. “How will a father fight with his daughter? Everybody you see around me are my children, and I love and care for all of them.”
He further elaborated on this familial analogy, acknowledging the occasional complexities within such relationships. “If you are a father, at times you may have a misunderstanding, but they are my children,” he added, underscoring the enduring connection despite any potential differences.
Obi’s remarks appear designed to put an end to the persistent speculation, reinforcing a message of unity and a close-knit bond within his political base.
