Peruzzi, the artist, has expressed his intention to file a lawsuit against an influencer who posted a fabricated tweet about him and Chioma Adeleke, which triggered a debate online. Social media users woke up to a photoshopped tweet that claimed Peruzzi was involved in a scandal with Davido, the head of his record company, and Chioma, Davido’s spouse. @belikebaddy, a Twitter user, started the controversy by posting a faked tweet allegedly from Peruzzi’s account, hinting that Davido had cut him off because of an alleged affair with Chioma. Peruzzi promptly denied any connection with the fake tweet, stating that it was completely fabricated. Peruzzi cautioned @belikebaddy that spreading untrue information could have legal consequences after seeing the doctored tweet. @belikebaddy, in response, publicly apologized and admitted to creating the fake tweet.
“I apologize for posting an edited tweet which involved @peruzzi and @davido. I take full responsibility for all my actions have caused, and I promise it’ll never happen again. My apologies to DMW Management,” he wrote.
Peruzzi, on the other hand, was adamant about taking legal action.
Peruzzi expressed his commitment to seek legal action and urged his followers to support the cause by raising awareness and finances for the court fight.
The singer wrote:
“Y’all retweet this, so he can have money for court. God forgives, I do too. But not this time. F**k that.”
