Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna (Ijeoma Josephina Otabor), has reignited the controversy surrounding her 2022 victory, insisting that the show’s organizers have yet to hand over the full ₦100 million prize package she was promised.
The Bitcoin Dispute
A central point of contention in her allegations is the pledge made by sponsor Quidax Global to award her 1 Bitcoin. With the cryptocurrency’s value surging significantly since 2022 now reportedly worth over ₦100 million on its own Phyna claims this asset, along with other benefits, remains undelivered.
Unfulfilled Promises
Beyond the cryptocurrency, the reality star has accused MultiChoice Nigeria of withholding various other components of the winning package, including cash equivalents, a travel trip for two, and product supplies from sponsors. She expressed deep frustration that the delays have hindered her career and personal life, a situation made worse by the public’s refusal to take her claims seriously.
The Stand-Off
While MultiChoice has previously maintained that they fulfilled all obligations to the winner, Phyna feels betrayed by the platform that launched her into stardom. She noted that the skepticism from fans forced her to speak out again.
She stated:
“When I came online, people didn’t believe me. BBNaija still hasn’t given me the ₦100 million I won.”
