The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will hold its presidential primary on December 6, while the governorship and national assembly primaries have been scheduled for October 29 and November 22 respectively, national publicity secretary of the party, Olisah Metuh, has revealed.

Speaking  in Abuja on Wednesday, Metuh said the dates, which were proposed by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), are subject to approval by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) scheduled to meet on Thursday.

“We expect all public servants, government appointees and elected party officials who are interested in contesting any position to resign their appointments seven days before the commencement of the ward congress election,” he said.

Sales of nomination and expression of interest forms for candidates intending to vie for elective offices under the platform of the ruling party would be between October 27 and October 28.

The next general election of the country has been scheduled for February 2015.
