PASTOR KILLED INSIDE HIS CHURCH IN OSUN

Unknown assailants at the weekend, killed a pastor of The Apostolic Church in Gbongan, headquarters of Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State. The pastor, according to sources in the town, was killed inside his church while praying at midnight.

Although facts about the death of the pastor whose identity could not be ascertained as at press time remained sketchy, it was gathered that he was killed by unknown person, who escaped after perpetrating the dastardly act.

Daily Sun gathered that the pastor was killed while praying inside the church located at Oke Ola area of the town.

The matter, which was initially reported at the Gbongan Police Division, it was further gathered had been transferred to the state Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) in Osogbo, the state capital.

Efforts to get the relations of the pastor and members of his church for comments failed as his house was under lock when Daily Sun visited.

Also, policemen at the Gbongan Division refused to speak on the matter, saying it had been transferred to the SCID.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Gbongan Police Division was not available for comments when Daily Sun visited the police station yesterday. But the Ile-Ife Area Commander was seen at the police station.

However, it was gathered that the police had commenced investigations into the matter with a view to arresting those behind the killing of the pastor.
