Pastor Enoch Adeboye has sparked reactions online after sharing his opinion on qualities he believes are important when choosing a life partner.
Speaking during a sermon, the cleric advised men to pay attention to practical traits such as cooking ability and hospitality when selecting a spouse, saying these qualities are important for building a stable home.
He also stressed the value of intelligence and good character, while referencing biblical principles in his message.
According to him, if a woman does not possess such attributes, a man should reconsider marriage to avoid future problems.
His words in part:
“Don’t marry a girl who cannot cook. We’re talking of excellent counsel. Only me can tell you these things. If she can’t cook, even if a prophet says this is your wife. Say thank you, keep her. Because if she can’t cook, if she can’t be hospitable, you’re heading for trouble. The Bible made it clear that your wife must be someone who is intelligent and hospitable…”
His comments have generated mixed reactions online, with some agreeing with his traditional view of marriage roles, while others argued for a more modern and flexible approach to relationships.
