A group of Nigerian cops were filmed beating up a young man in Delta State who allegedly refused to give them a bribe.
According to reports, the man was stopped at the checkpoint by officers but refused to pay the usual 100 naira pass fee.
The officers were reported to have collected the man’s car documents as well as his car plate numbers.
When the young man approached them to request that they give the items back to him, it infuriated the armed policemen who swooped down on him.
One of the officers could be seen in the video pulling out a dagger from its scabbard, threatening to end his life.
Another officer immediately charged at the young man, hitting him with sticks and drawing more officers to the young man.
Passers-by and other motorists who appeared fearful of interfering stared helplessly.
