Following the Associated Airlines plane crash that occurred today, which was conveying the body of former Ondo state governor Olusegun Agagu, his family members and friends to Ondo state for the state burial by the state government today, the Ondo State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) released a press statement on the crash expressing shock over the incident which according to reports claimed 16 lives.
The Statement issued by the Director of Publicity of the party in Ondo State, Mr Ayo Fadaka States thus:
“We received with absolute shock the news of the crash involving the corpse of Dr Olusegun Agagu and prominent citizens of the State.
This development to say the least is incomprehensible and unprecedented in the annals of our history as a State.
In view of the development we appeal to our Party members and the people of Ondo State to remain calm as we believe that relevant agencies of Government will unearth the cause of this crash.
We declare that any attempt to resort to violence will be negative.
The Party hereby condole the families of those who died in the crash, may their souls rest in peace.
