Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged renewed efforts to tackle the growing teacher shortage in the country and around the world.
In her message commemorating the 2025 World Teachers’ Day, Mrs. Tinubu praised educators as “true heroes who shape minds, nurture dreams, and guide generations.”
She expressed deep admiration for teachers’ vital contributions to nation-building and the future of humanity, describing them as pillars of progress.
As a lifelong teacher herself, the First Lady said she holds profound respect for those who dedicate their lives to education.
Mrs. Tinubu also emphasized that this year’s theme, “Focusing on the Global Teacher Shortage,” serves as an important reminder of the urgent need to confront the declining number of teachers across the world.
