Businessman Olakunle Churchill has reacted to the divorce filing by his estranged wife, Rosy Meurer, questioning how she could seek a dissolution in court when, according to him, they only had an introduction ceremony.
It was previously reported that Rosy filed for divorce after five years together and two children, following Churchill’s public reconciliation with former wife Tonto Dikeh.
In a statement shared on social media, Churchill argued that there is no legal basis for divorce proceedings because their union was only an introduction and not a church or court wedding.
He also claimed he had not been served any official legal notice regarding the hearing over the alleged dissolution of their relationship.
According to him, Rosy is being misled by people who do not properly understand the law or media matters.
Churchill also rejected claims that Rosy stood firmly by him while Tonto Dikeh publicly criticised him during his custody battle over their son, King Andre.
He stated that anyone else could have supported him if Rosy had not been in his life at the time.
He further added that both he and Tonto had wronged each other in the past but have now chosen forgiveness and peace.
