Lima and Kira Ogogo, daughters of the late veteran Yoruba movie star Taiwo Hassan, widely known as Ogogo, have officially declared their support for Senator Solomon Adeola in the upcoming 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
The sisters announced their endorsement during a weekend environmental sanitation drive in Abeokuta, the state capital. Organized by the “Gen Z for Yayi” youth mobilization group, the community clean-up campaign aimed to merge political advocacy with civic responsibility.
Youth Action and Political Endorsement
While participating in the sanitation drive, the daughters of the late Nollywood icon urged their peers to become active agents of change. Lima Ogogo noted that young citizens should move beyond complaining about governance and focus on how they can improve their immediate environment.
She emphasized that the gathering served a dual purpose: beautifying the neighborhood and showing deep-seated loyalty to Senator Adeola, who runs on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kira Ogogo, whose full name is Shakirat Olawunmi Taiwo Omokulodo, echoed her sister’s sentiments in a separate video address, openly acknowledging Senator Adeola as the preferred successor for the Ogun State government house.
A Connection Rooted in Legacy
The public endorsement comes in the wake of the passing of their father, Taiwo Hassan, who died on August 23, 2026, at the age of 66. The late actor was a revered figure in Nigeria’s Yoruba cinema and hailed from Ilaro in Ogun State.
During a condolence visit to the family home in Ilaro, Senator Adeola revealed that he had envisioned a prominent role for the veteran actor in his future administration. He disclosed plans to appoint the late movie icon as his Special Adviser on Tourism and Culture, a position intended to carry cabinet-level rank.
Adeola praised the late actor’s extensive knowledge of traditional heritage, which made him the ideal candidate for the culture portfolio. Following Hassan’s demise, several political observers and community members have urged the senator to consider appointing one of the actor’s daughters to the advisory role if he succeeds in the 2027 gubernatorial election.
