Prominent Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck was involved in a tense confrontation with police officers on Saturday morning, vigorously arguing that his attempted arrest at an event venue was unlawful.
The Heated Viral Exchange
In a video widely shared across social media platforms, an officer is seen questioning the hip-hop star about why he was refusing to comply with their directives. The officer asked the artist if he was actively resisting arrest, reminding him that a prior invitation had been sent to him.
Odumodublvck quickly dismissed the accusation of non-compliance, stating that his legal representation had already engaged with the authorities. “My lawyers came to your office, I am not resisting arrest, it was attended to,” the rapper asserted in the video.
Dispute Over Jurisdiction and Legal Standing
As the confrontation escalated, Odumodublvck challenged the officers’ authority to apprehend him at that specific location, questioning their jurisdiction. He claimed that a court order prohibited them from taking him away from the venue and accused the officers of trying to suppress his freedom of expression.
“It is illegal to take me from here, my brother. You’re telling me not to tweet, not to speak,” the rapper exclaimed during the standoff.
Allegations of Stealth Police Tactics
According to the music star, police officers had previously visited his private residence. He alleged that the officers instructed estate security and neighbors not to notify him of their visit, prompting him to involve his legal team immediately upon finding out.
The video concludes with Odumodublvck steadfastly refusing to accompany the officers, reiterating that the matter was already legally settled by his attorneys. Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
