Nigerian hip-hop star Tochukwu Ojogwu, better known as Odumodublvck, has called out fellow rapper Blaqbonez, urging him to stop claiming the title of Nigeria’s best rapper.
According to NAIJALOG, tensions between the two recently intensified following a heated exchange on social media. The friction reportedly began after Blaqbonez took a jab at Odumodublvck in his new collaboration with A-Q titled “Who’s Really Rapping.”
In a recent interview with Jusmen 105.7, Odumodublvck criticized Blaqbonez for what he described as a disrespectful claim, saying that calling oneself the best rapper in Nigeria undermines the contributions of true rap legends.
“Do you know what it means to call yourself the best rapper in Nigeria?” he asked. “That’s not funny. You’re not the best. M.I, Vector — those are the best. If you were truly the best, you would’ve at least won or been nominated for Best Rap Album or Best Rap Single at the Headies.”
He continued, “I’m not even claiming to be better than Phyno. His legacy speaks for itself. Then you’ve got guys like Olamide, Modenine, Ghost, Tec… So, for me to make that kind of claim, I’d have to truly be the best. But if you’re not, stop saying it. It’s annoying, bro. You could get slapped for that kind of talk.”
Odumodublvck emphasized that while Blaqbonez is talented, claiming to be the best out of insecurity is misleading. “No one’s saying you’re a bad artist — you’re great. But don’t feed lies to the youth. People aren’t even booking you for shows. Don’t let your insecurity block the way for others.”
