On Thursday, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited launched five Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) mini-plants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State.
The newly established LNG plants are PRIME LNG, NGML/Gasnexus LNG, BUA LNG, Highland LNG, and LNG Arete.
These plants will receive their feedstock—natural gas—from existing pipelines that already supply gas to the Ajaokuta area. The primary source of this gas will be the AKK pipeline, the Ajaokuta-Kano-Kaduna pipeline currently being constructed by the Federal Government.
The mini-plants aim to supply gas to regions of the country that currently lack any form of gas infrastructure.
