Oil workers in Nigeria have called off a strike action they embarked on after the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu announced that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) would be split into independent units.
The workers are said to have called off the strike after meeting with Kachikwu, who is also the Group Managing Director of the NNPC.
