Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has finally broken her silence following her highly publicized defeat to Big Brother Naija star Phyna in their recent celebrity boxing match. The star-studded event, which took place at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, saw Phyna walk away with the victory and a coveted 50 million Naira grand prize.
A Major Difference in Preparation Times
Addressing her fans during a subsequent Instagram Live session, Nkechi Blessing explained that a primary factor in her loss was the stark contrast in their training schedules. While she only managed to train for a mere two days before stepping into the ring, Phyna reportedly dedicated over two weeks to intense physical preparation.
The actress admitted that her limited training left her at a disadvantage, though she maintained a positive and lighthearted attitude about the outcome. According to Nkechi, she simply did not have the stamina to match her opponent’s readiness due to the brief preparation window.
Playful Accusations and Ringside Tactics
Aside from her lack of training, Nkechi also shared a humorous take on what transpired inside the boxing ring. She jokingly accused the reality television star of constantly running away from her during the rounds, which she claimed disrupted her own offensive strategy and left her questioning the tactics being used.
Despite the loss, Nkechi Blessing has received praise from fans for her sportsmanship and her ability to laugh at the situation. The highly anticipated match has kept social media buzzing, with many commentators commending both entertainers for putting on an entertaining show for their supporters.
