The Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has honoured the Comptroller General of Customs, Alhaji Dikko Nde Abdullahi with twenty four image makers of the Nigeria Custom Service.
The Institute who inducted the twenty image makers bestowed a honorary fellowship on the Comptroller General of Customs, Alhaji Dikko Nde Abdullahi.
The ceremony was conducted at a Public Relations Training and Conference organized by the Customs in collaboration with the NIPR titled “Team Work: Necessity and Mechanism” in Asaba, Delta State recently.
Speaking at the ceremony, President of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Alhaji M.A Abdullahi said that this is the first time that the institute is having a mass induction.
Abdullahi also said that the event is to show faith in the recent transformations of the customs and that the honorary fellowship on the CG is in recognition of his giant strides and his recognition of public relation tool.
Speaking, he said “The NIPR is happy to collaborate with the customs in its drive towards professionalism and excellence, hence the joint organization of this conference which includes the induction into the institute of PR officers of the service who have satisfied the requirement of public relation practice in Nigeria.”
“This is the first time we are conducting this type of special induction ceremony and it is the NIPR way of appreciating the giant strides of the Customs in recognition of value adding nature of public relations”
While addressing the inductees, Abdullahi urged them to take advantage of the institute’s capacity building programme, and to work hard to grow in the profession.
“If you remain stagnant, it is only a matter of time before you become professionally stale and irrelevant”
Abdullahi warned that it is a criminal offense for anybody not registered with the NIPR to practice public relations.
