Nigerians have taken to social media to slam popular real estate company, Lekki Gardens after a five storey building collapsed in Ikate Elegushi area of Lagos, killing 18 persons among whom was a woman and her three-year-old child.
The owner of lekki gardens should be held accountable.
Let’s see how the LASG will handle this one.

That building that collapsed at Lekki gardens will be due to substantial materials.

It’s not only Lekki Gardens, most residential/commercial buildings in Lagos are substandard and prone to collapse.
— infobridge (@chudyc) March 9, 2016
But that’s what Lekki Gardens advertises. It’s either they don’t do it, or the buildings are grossly substandard or hugely overpriced.

Lekki Gardens and a few other estates trying to look like Northern Foreshore but with poor/cheap building materials.

Do we have a Ministry that regulates housing (building) materials? Who’s in charge of Lekki Gardens? Is there a provision for prosecution?
