The family of top Adamawa State-based singer, Ado Daukaka has confirmed that he has gone missing, just hours after he released an anti-corruption album, and the development is now generating furore among Nigerians.
According to the reports, his wives believe him to have been abducted by some unknown persons who visited his home in the wee hours of Saturday.
Mr. Daukaka, who came to limelight during the reign of ex-Governor, Murtala Nyako, with his popular praise song for the former governor, “Baba mai mangoro ndottijon arziki”, was last seen on Saturday after he left for early morning prayers.
The musician’s wives were quoted as saying some strangers came asking for him after he set out for prayers.
Daukaka’s family believe his abduction is politically motivated because out a powerful political party in his single, ‘Gyara kayanka’, where he accused some elected politicians of the ruling party of deceiving the electorate.
Speaking with the press, a relative, Atiku Mustapha said: “It is not surprising that he could be abducted because of his song because in his new song in which he compared the present and past elected members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
“The way and manner things are happening will not augur well for the state. They just want to intimidate those that are criticising the charade playing out in the state,” he added.
Meanwhile on social media, the news is gathering storm as many Nigerians are asking for investigation into the strange disappearance.
