The inauguration of the new Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich took place yesterday and the elected candidate is Nigerian-born British councillor, Olugbenga Babatola, who was sworn in as the first African Mayor of Greenwich, South-East London.
The 59-year-old married father-of-four and grandfather, is Greenwich’s first ever Mayor of African descent and will hold the position for a year.
