President Muhammadu Buhari in an interview with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA has said the Nigeria Air force does not have enough air fire power to support ground troops to decimate the terrorists.
He painted this worrisome picture on while speaking on NTA’s Good Morning Nigeria show today.
“The Airforce is virtually non – existent. The fixed wings aircraft are not very serviceable. The helicopters are not serviceable and they are too few.
“Our case is lack of capacity and effective Airforce., he bemoaned whilst noting that the nation doesn’t have trained personnel.
“We need Airforce to conduct reconnaissance and support the ground troops, The arrangement made by the former government will soon expire, he further said.
When asked if he was able to secure a commitment from America to sell critical equipments to defeat the terrorists, he tactfully parried the question.
Stating, “We have made this clear to the Americans and we have made it clear to G7 and we need their cooperation. ”
